LORDS International Residential School (CBSE), Udupi joyfully celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with the theme “Nadotsava”, honouring the rich culture, heritage, and pride of Karnataka. The event was graced by Mrs. Yashoda Keshav, Proprietor of Tulunada Dhwani Web News Channel, as the Chief Guest, and presided by Ms. Myrtel L. F. Lewis, Principal of the School. Students showcased the beauty of Kannada culture through their vibrant performances, including songs and dances that celebrated the spirit of Nadu and Nudi. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Yashoda Keshav was inspired to see the love for Kannada among all the students and teachers. Appreciated the enthusiastic performances, decorations, spirit of unity and respect for mother tongue.
She hailed Kannada is not just a language but an emotion that connects hearts, and culture and a legacy that must be protected and passed on to the next generation. She congratulated the organizers and expressed her admiration for the way the school upholds and showcases Karnataka’s rich traditions such as the chende performance, the cultural welcoming of guests with jaggery water, the traditional ‘bagina’ (udi thumbisu) ceremony, and the attractive inauguration marked by the unveiling of the areca-nut flower. She highly praised the seamless blending of traditional customs with a modern educational environment. The celebration truly reflected the unity, pride, and cultural richness of Karnataka.
