Assessments and Promotion
The School will conduct assessments (Periodic Test and Exams) as per the dates scheduled in the annual calendar. Attendance is compulsory for all the students during examination. Improvement exams/tests will be conducted. If any student is absent due to medical reason, a medical certificate has to be submitted to the Principal. If a holiday is declared on the scheduled Assessment day, then the same will be conducted after the last day of Assessment.
Assessment for Classes I to VII:
The assessment for Classes I - VII is based on Term-wise system. The students are assessed based on the performance in both the terms i.e., Term I and Term II.
Part I - Scholastic Area:
The school does not burden the young minds with the pressure of examination. Day to Day progress is the criterion for assessing the performance of the child. The student is assessed on a 8 point grading scale.
Term I - Portion : From June to September
Term II - Portion : From October to March

When a student is absent for the exam/test for valid reasons, the parent is requested to meet his/her class teacher personally and get the leave sanctioned.

Student who pass in all the subjects in all the Tests and Examination during the year scoring in each subject aggregate 90% in the Primary section and 85% in the Higher section will be awarded Merit Certificate.

Every student should put in at least 75% of attendance in order get Merit Certificate. The students who put in 100% attendance in the academic year will be awarded a Certificate of Appreciation.

Malpractice in tests and examination is a serious offence. A student who has recourse to malpractice in the Examination will not be promoted to higher class.

No re-examination is taken in case of students absenting from any examination other health related issues.

No child will be detained if he/she has 75% attendance and shows satisfactory progress in academics.

If the child's progress is not satisfactory, the parent will haveto give an undertaking that satisfactory progress will beensured in the next assessment.

Internal Assessments:
- Periodic Test: It will be conducted for 20 marks for all the core subjects and will be reduced to 10 marks to consider for internal assessment.
- Notebooks: For each term, notebooks will be assessed for10 marks. It will be assessed twice in each term (5 marks +5 marks). The criteria for assessing notebooks will be based on (a) submission on time (b) Completion and (c) Neatness.
- Subject Enrichment Activity: It enhances children’s creativity with a wide variety of activities that will help them to build skills in critical thinking, listening, memory, visualization and concentration. It will be assessed twice in each term for 10 marks (i.e., 5 marks + 5 Marks) in the concerned subjects.

B. Part II - Assessment of Co-Scholastic Area:

As per the CBSE, in addition to the scholastic areas, co-scholasticareas like Art and Craft Education and Health andPhysical Education is provided and assessed. Under Craft, Socially Useful and Productive Work (SUPW) is taught tostudents. Under Health and Physical Education games, healthand fitness and SEWA (Social Empowerment through WorkEducation and Action) are taken care.

Internal Assessments:
- Periodic Tests: The main purpose of Periodic tests is to assess the learning progress of students at regular intervals that would provide feedback in the learning process of students. This enables the students for better learning and setting up realistic goals. The 5% of best two periodic tests will be taken for internal assessment.
- Multiple Assessment: The multiple assessment is more comprehensive and students are assessed by using multipleand diverse techniques like oral tests, individual or groupwork, class discussion, field-work, concept maps, visualrepresentation, quiz etc. Any four activities will be assessed forthe internals.
- Portfolio: It is a collection of student’s work representing aselection of performances that is assembled over the entireyear and describes the student’s effort, innovative ideas,growth and achievement in his/her learning process. It helpsthe students to develop their skill of organization, criticalthinking and reflection on their own work. It includes writtenassignments, artwork, achievement certificates, peer reviews,creative and innovative activities etc. The portfolio will beassessed at the end of the academic year based on theirorganization, quality of work, completion of the work assigned, evidences and presentation.
- Subject Enrichment Activities: Subject Enrichment activities will provide in-depth learning that motivates students to dig deeper into a specific topic. It also helps to build up creative skills, critical thinking and provides opportunity for students to explore their own interests along with an understanding of a particular topic. In this area, either a single project (Social Science) or lab related activities (Mathematics and Science) or Speaking and Listening skills (Languages) will be assessed for the internals.

Part II - Assessment of Co-Scholastic Area:
Education envisages the comprehensive and holisticdevelopment of children and hence Co-scholastic areas areessential. These activities are assessed on a 5-point gradingscale. The Co- scholastic areas of assessment as recommendedby CBSE are as follows:
- Art Education: Art Education will help in the development of the personalityof the children with regard to aesthetic sensibilities and respectfor social values and cultural heritage. It encourages learnersto develop creative expression, sharpens keen observationand develops a sense of organization. Participation in activitiesor competitions organized and conducted by the schoolthroughout the year form the basis of assessing the student.
- Health and Physical Education: Health and Physical Education focuses on holistic development,both mental and physical, understanding the importance ofphysical fitness, health, wellbeing and the factors that contributeto them which in turn develop their positive attitude,commitment to life long, healthy and active living. Our Schoolfocuses on living satisfied and productive lives that includesmaintaining good health, hygiene and sanitation, workexperience, indigenous sports, yoga and fitness. Assessmentof Co-scholastic Areas will be continuously done by theteacher on the basis of the students’ participation, team-spirit,commitment and honest effort. The Health and PhysicalEducation has three areas for assessment which are as follows:1) Games 2) Health and Fitness 3) SEWA
- Others: Based on the needs of present day context the School alsooffers a few additional Co-scholastic areas for the overallgrowth of the students. These areas are helpful for students to meet the challenges of today’s society. The other aspects include: (i) Computer Science (ii) General Knowledge (iii) Moral Science/Value Education (iv) Music/Dance
Part III. Discipline:
Discipline in young minds significantly impacts their career shaping and helps to build character to enable them to become better citizens. Dedication, honesty, truthfulness, kindness, empathy, respect for the environment and elders are the values that our students must actively practice. Parents may also support the school in cultivating disciplined behavior in their wards. Class teacher will grade the students on a five-point scale (A to E) with regard to their (i) Attendance and punctuality (ii) Smart turnout iii) Promptness in performing academic duties (iv) Integration of values such as dedication, honesty, truthfulness, kindness, empathy, respect for elders and environment (v) Good behaviour (managing emotions, maintaining healthy relationship).

OPEN HOUSE DAY
- Parents come to the School to view the performance of their ward. The ‘Open House Day’ gives an opportunity for a meaningful exchange of views between parents and teachers to bring about a better understanding of individual problems.
- Performance of the student will also be sent through the school app only to the parent who attends the open house.
